Thailand Golf Tour – Daily Report

Summary of the Thailand Trip 2016

Our deepest sympathy is extending to the Thai people for the passing of their King.

The day before his passing we had the honor of playing Pattana Golf Course known as the Kings Course.  Many of our players wore the black ribbon during their play, we thank the Thai people for there friendship and service during this difficult time.

During the trip the weather was outstanding with only one or two groups getting caught in a shower during one of the days of golf.

Timings worked out fine with the bus leaving at 6.30 am every morning at some courses it even gave us the chance to hit a few practice balls.

The Bay Breeze was very accommodating to all the players allowing a special time for breakfast and also helped many of the players find room suitable for them.  I suggest next year if you return just ask for the same room as last year the hotel keep records for our trip.

I incorporated a fishing trip this year and whilst the players had a great time, we now know that just 2 hours of fishing will be enough time for most of us to catch enough fish and enjoy the experience I think next year a tape measure will come in handy for bragging rights.

I know that many of you enjoyed some of the courses but not all, each year the courses change due to the deals we can organise for players and this year we got some great deals.

Next year the Thai Trip will be advertised in May and there will be some changes to continually improve the trip. This years trip filled up very quickly in fact we had players on a waiting list to join us this year and some almost missed out so dont leave it to the last minute infact next year there will be a closing date and no further nominations we be considered after that date so start planning now.

If you feel that there is some area that needs improvement or consdieration please email your comments to balibagosocialgolfclub@gmail.com constructive criticism is welcome.

Thank you to to the Tournament Committe Warwick, John and Fred great job boys will miss you involvement next year Fred but after 5 years and turning 70 you deserve a rest, to all the players who attended we wish you safe travel.

Finally, I would like to congratulate the 2016 Thailand Tourer Player – Joe Giovenco selected for being a most valued player during the trip, Joe won both of his matchplay events with different partners and played in the spirit of the game and demonstrated the three principles of etiquette Respect, Consideration and Honesty well done Joe.

We haven’t played this course for a few years visually it’s really a treat it’s not an easy course to play with dog legs left and right and small landing areas to play the next shot.
