Beverly Place Golf Club – 19th September

Hi to all around the Globe,

Today it was off to Beverly again due to the continuous rain and course condition of Marina, although they have been making some progress out at Marina, but I dont believe we will be back there by next week if the weather continues.

We had a Committee meeting today about our schedule over the next couple of months.  October will see many of us heading to Thailand to play in our annual trip, so the committee decided that the Monthly Medals will be played on the following dates.

October Monthly Medal – 31st October

November Monthly Medal – 7th November

August Monthly Medal – 14th November

September Monthly Medal – 21st November

The history of the Balibago Social Golf Club since 1995 has associated its golf with Marina Hills Golf Course and this will remain for as long as Marina Hills operates a golf course, our club is about the social game of golf and enjoying the company of other players who enjoy the game and also the after golf presentations, this is what Tuesday golf days are based on and we will continue this activity for anyone who wants to join us.

There were 18 players who travelled down to Beverly to play and they just managed to stay out of the rain.

WINNERS

Warwick Sharpe 47pts

Phil Nelson 46pts OCB from Dave Paliwoda 46pts

Please keep an eye out for the wet weather advisory for next week but the presentation bar will be Honey Ko’s.

Beverly Place Golf Club -19th September

Hi to all around the Globe,

So last week there was no golf played as a tropical depression passed over Angeles dumping a lot more rain.

This week it was a different story great weather and the course at Beverly is in great condition.  We only had 13 players but it was still a good day out.

Winner

Steve Turner 42 pts

Runner Up

Anthony Cullen 41 pts on a count back from Joe Souchak.

Congratulations to Joe who had a nice eagle of the 18th hole.

Future Golf at Marina, well that’s the question we are hoping that they get control of the grass but at the moment its just week by week to see what how the course is coming along, so it’s important to keep an eye out on facebook or the website as to what might be happening.

Next week Old Mates is the presentation bar.

Pradera Verde Golf Club – 5th September

Hi to all around the Globe

Starting of the month of September and still we find ourselves playing at other courses due to the ongoing wet season and the unplayable conditions at Marina.

This week we went to Pradera Verde for a game and for those who haven’t been there yet what a beautiful course, the clubhouse is well set out with all of the amentities, the course whilst it’s only new is really amazing and very enjoyable to play.  The scores this week were a little lower than that of Beverly the last few weeks, mainly due to the course being a little harder and a little longer than Beverly.

It was a count back from a count back from a count back any way the Winner had 39 points along with a list of other players and somehow Freddy Cannova came out on top I think due to the putting lessons give to him by Joe Souchak, but Freddy probably wouldn’t tell you that it was most likely the new swing.

WINNERS

1st Fred Cannova 39

2nd Mike Powell 39

3rd Steve Arnold 39

4th Joe Souchak 39

We are now only a month away from the Thailand Trip, we have had 2 cancellations so there are a couple of spots up for grabs if anyone wants to enter, please let me know asap.  I will be organising all of the transfer over the next two weeks, I will keep you up to date and informed as we get closer to the date.

John Cummins def Phil Nelson in the pool comp.
