October Newsletters 2017

Marina Hills – 31st October 2017

Hi to all around the globe,

We had 26 players turn up at Marina to play our October Monthly Medal, why so late well this year the wet season just kept on coming and it wasn’t until the end of October that we could play our monthly medal round.

The day was overcast and of course the rain came for about half of the round, whilst it was only light rain the conditions were cool for golf.  The scores were pretty cool also not too many great rounds out there in the A Grade, B Grade there were only a couple that broke par in fact only 3 players who scored a nett round better than par.  The course is difficult with the rough being extremely hazardous if you strayed off the fairway it was almost impossible to find your ball resulting in a lot of penalties and the greens were very bumpy and uneven.  It the last month I believe that our players have probably lost over a hundred golf balls at Marina, so they should be an over supply soon when the grass is cut.

Welcome back to Gianni Bicego and Jess Cullen and departing golfers John Sourk for a short trip and Joe Souchak safe travel and see you both soon.

Marina Hills – 24th October 2017

Hi to all around the globe,

Well many of the Thialnd Players have returned to the Philippines, another great tour of Thai golf courses with great weather, thanks to everyone that came along.

Today we had 21 players take part in a stableford event at Marina, I am told that the course has improved but needs more work and the greens were a bit bumpy to putt on.

Congratulations to Steve Arnold who had an eagle of the 13th Hole par 5.

Marina Hills – 10th Octber 2017

Hi to all around the Globe,

Whilst the majority of us are in Thailand, 9 players turned up for the weekly game at Marina Hills, this is all the information we received, however I can tell you that they wont be playing there next week due to several days of rain from a passing Typhoon.

Dave did ask me to advertise Wayne Halls car for sale to help out his girlfriend, apparently the car is in her name and she wants to sell it.  Dave brought Wayne golf cart so its no longer for sale. The information is below just click of the link.

Marina Hills – 3rd October 2017

Hi to all around the Globe,

Well we made a decision to return to Marina after 9 week absence due to this years continuous wet season, the longest in the club’s history. So, was it a good decision to get back out there for me I think it needs some more work before we play at Marina again, but I lost 13 balls and won the NAGA with 17 points so perhaps I not the one to be asking.

We had 17 players who turned up to have a go so thank you all for supporting our club. We gave out prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd today rather than our normal A & B grades.
