Newsletter – September 4, 2019

Hi to all our readers around the world,

It is the 1st week of September which means Monthly Medal time. Considering we are in the rainy season we had a respectable turnout of 16 golfers at Beverly Place competing for glory using the Stroke/Count Putts format. The “Greens” were Good and the “Fairways” Good but Soft with no carts allowed on the fairways. This of course resulted in caddies running back and forth to the carts for the required clubs!

Some good scores were carded with a tight finish in the B-Group (see results). We held our presentation at Emotions where we were joined by Glen Wong and Harry Nieuwland, who arrived back in Angeles too late to play. A good few beers were sunk that afternoon alongside the usual, competitive pool tournament.

Incidentally your scribe paid a visit to Marina Hills the following Thursday, but sad to say the course was a mess, waterlogged and basically unplayable. We will be at Beverly Place a while longer, that’s for sure.
