The Balibago Social Golf Club Christmas Party 2024
On the bright morning of December 18th, 2024, the Balibago Social Golf Club kicked off the day as they always do—with camaraderie and competition on the pristine greens of the Beverly Place Golf Course. Golfers strode onto the course, clubs in hand, spirits high, and the Philippine sun shining brightly overhead. By mid-afternoon, scorecards were tallied, banter exchanged, and another round of the club’s legendary weekly competition was in the books.
But the day’s events were far from over. That evening, members gathered once more, this time trading golf shirts for smart casuals and party dresses, to celebrate the year gone by at the club’s Annual Christmas Party. This year’s festive gathering occurred in the stunning, tropically adorned garden of the Orchid Inn in Angeles City. With over 50 attendees, including the always-charming better halves of some members, the stage was set for an unforgettable evening.
The evening began as all good parties do—with refreshments. Beers and soft drinks flowed freely as friends reconnected and laughter rippled across the garden. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the lights in the Orchid Inn garden cast a soft, magical glow over the event.
Taking the spotlight on a small but beautifully decorated stage, Brett Radford, one of the club’s lively members, addressed the crowd. With a microphone in hand, Brett delivered heartfelt praise to the committee for their tireless work throughout the year. A special shoutout went to Captain Warwick Sharpe, the backbone of the club, whose weekly dedication ensured the competitions ran seamlessly and the presentations were a delight for the members.
Soon after, the crowd gravitated toward the buffet, a spread prepared with care by the Orchid Inn’s talented kitchen staff. The tantalizing aroma of expertly prepared dishes wafted through the air, and the crowd was unanimous in their approval. From the first bite to the last, the food was nothing short of excellent, and the service was warm, attentive, and tireless.
In a gesture of goodwill and appreciation, Dave Paliwoda made his rounds with a hat, collecting contributions for the hardworking staff. Clad in an ensemble that could only be described as early 20th-century Polish mafia chic, Dave’s commanding presence encouraged generous donations from the attendees.
With appetites satisfied, the evening shifted into its most anticipated phase—the raffles and awards ceremony. Captain Warwick returned to the stage and, with his characteristic humor and charm, presided over the raffle draw, which featured an array of prizes that would make any golfer’s heart skip a beat.
Among the coveted items were two premium golf bags and three custom clothing bags, all emblazoned with the proud BSGC logo. Cheers erupted with every lucky winner announced, as members walked away with exquisite bottles of spirits and other golf-related treasures. Socks with our logo for every member! They’re flexible, if you cut off the foot part, you can use them as sun protection for your arms.
Then came the grand moment: the presentation of the season’s Cups. These trophies, earned through months of skillful play and perseverance, were handed out to the club’s standout performers. The exact results, along with photos of the event, would later grace the club’s website for all to see.

As the evening wound down, the attention shifted once more to the lovely ladies of BSGC. Clad in elegant dresses that sparkled as brightly as the garden’s fairy lights, they gathered on the podium for a flurry of photos—a fitting finale to a night that celebrated friendship, competition, and the joy of the season.
Before the guests departed, the committee took a moment to thank everyone for their presence, camaraderie, and contributions throughout the year. Their final message was simple yet heartfelt:
“Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy 2025. Hit ’em straight, guys!”
Next year the BSGC will celebrate our 30-year existence. Allen Lewis already granted to hire the top floor of the Marriot! Thanks, Allen!
