Marina Hills 27th June 2017
Hi to all around the Globe,
Apologies for the late posting of the Newsletter this week, we had 20 players turn up to play a stableford event on Tuesday. The grass is certainly growing at full speed at the moment with the rain and humidity.
The Greens are quite patchy at the moment but are still ok to putt on whilst the scores aren’t outstandind the winner of A Grade with 36 points was Dave Walter and runner up Steve Arnold with 34 points. In B Grade Freddy Cannova has a win on a count back scoring 39 points along with Paul Fisher, it just so happens the next week is Monthly Medal so Freddy drops from 19 to 18 so now your back in A Grade with the best chance we know Freddy we know, so lets see in Freddy can get there next Tuesday.

Hi to all around the Globe,
Well it’s seem to be a while since we played a team event, so today everyone played a stableford aggregate. The course is a bit of a challenge at the moment no roll, long fairway grass and the rough can only be described as a jungle. If your just off the fairway chances are your ball is lost, I’m sure most of us contributed one or two balls to the rough today.
This morning during the starting I commented about the two lefties heading out together Brendon Anderson and Joe Giovenco I had a feeling they were going to show the rest of us how good lefties are and they didn’t disappoint winning by 6 shots ahead of Warwick and Fred on 71 points. Of course Fred couldn’t help himself telling us all that he and Warwick were previous winners of this event and today shouldn’t be a problem well Freddy not quite your were out played today.

Hi to all around the Globe,
Today we had 27 players take part in our stableford event, the course was very slow and heavy today. The greens were ok, the rough is out of control so it not hard to lose a ball, just remember to spped up play you can hit another ball from the point where you ball entered the rough and yes it’s a one shot penalty added to your score.
For your information Luisita Golf Club has a great offer on at the moment 2,000 pesos includes green fee, cart, caddy and 300 consumables, the course is outstanding. The club is considering holding a Tuesday competition, just as a special game for everyone.
We will let you know if we decide to go ahead with it. Today Royal Johnny had a win with just 35 points over Col Clark with 34 who won ocb Steve Arnold 34.
The B graders had the better scores again today with Harry Nieuwland 39 winning ahead of Fred Cannova 38.

Hi to all around the Globe,
Today we had 28 players take part in our June Monthly Medal, and boy what a surprise the difference in the course within only two weeks. The fairways have greened up and are very heavy and slow no run at all. The grass on the fairways was also quite long, and the rough is growing out of control. This is the time you have to be aware the conditions are hot and humid and a good time for snakes to be out and about so be cautious.
The Greens were slow today and a bit patchy there were some good scores particularly in B Grade Brendan Anderson blitzed the field he had a great round in these conditions carting a Nett 63 to win the B Grade monthly medal the next best was 72 from Nev Chandler Cross.
In the A Grade Freddy Cannova was telling everyone about his new swing and how he really got it now. That’s not unusally I think many of us have heard that story before but he did follow it up with a Nett 71 but it just wasn’t enough I was able to beat Freddy by just one shot to win the June Monthly Medal sorry Freddy but if you wouldn’t have missed those short birdie putts you would be the Man today.
