Marina Hills – 31st January 2017
Hi to all around the Globe,
Today we had 30 players turn out to Marina Hills Golf course and being the 5th Tuesday in the month we choose to play a 2 man ambrose.
Players were required to have 9 tee shots each, so the secret was to manage your tee shots carefully between the two players. The fairways had plenty of run the course is looking nice and clean with much of the rough cut down and burnt off. The greens are becoming a little bumpy at the moment.
We had some mix up with the scoring of the cards today some how players thought that you need to record stableford points which is not the case ambrose is scored only as a stroke score. The rules of the game are to select the shot you wish to play and all players hit from that position until the ball is holed and you record the number of shots you have and the tee shot of the player.
I had great pleasure today having the honour to play our round of golf with my daughter Jess who is visiting at the moment, although she played with a strange set of clubs she hit some great shots.
Jess and I had a 2 under 70 with a nett 61.5 to beat Ron Carter and Steve Arnold who had a 75 gross neet 66.5.

Hi to all around the Globe,
Today we had 22 players take part in an irish stableford, so what is an Irish Stableford well its pretty easy you play with a partner and at the end of eah hole your multiple your stableford scores so if Player 1 gets 4 a 2 and Player 2 gets 4 a 2 then the score for that hole is 2 x 2 = 4 the secret to this game is not to have zero points on a hole.
We have played this game several times before but we did have to check a few cards due to mathematical errors, so of our player believed that 3 times 0 is 3 sorry guys not correct.
The course has plenty of run at the moment and the greens today were ok they were a little bumpy in places.
We had two outstanding scores today the winners with 92pts and the runners up scored 90 pts the next best was 77pts.

Wayne Hall & Sam Kielley 92pts

In the B Grade 19 & above Ron Carter had a 93 Gross 69 Nett, the new clubs must be working a treat for you Ronnie.
