Marina Hills – 14th February 2017

Hi to all around the Globe,

Today we played a stableford event with 35 players coming out to play golf and also to show our respects to our President Bill Goodell, the man who left us this wonderful legacy a social golf club where anyone who enjoys the game can come along and have a round of golf.

dsc02172  We placed this photo on the first tee so Bill could watch over our game today, and whilst the front nine was very cool and enjoyable as we turned for the back nine the wind became very strong about 25knots something we dont experience here.  We all decided that it was Bill’s way of making the game a little more challenging, and that it did.

There were some great scores with Steve Turner for the second week running blitzed the B Grade with 44 pts ahead of Ken Bosward.  In the A Grade little Royal Johnny won with 41 pts ahead of Ben Ros and myself with 38pts.

At presentation I read a letter sent by Bill’s mate and long time Secretary of the club Steve Peters, we all learnt alot about Bill many of us not knowing some of the things he did for the club, the community and his house maids.  Thanks Steve
