Marina Hills 27th September 2016
Hi to All around the Globe,
Today we had 26 players take part in our stableford event, some old and new faces returning to Marina some of which are preparing for the annual Thai Tour. Just want to say thanks to our friend Keith Morrell who kindly put on a Pig and some drinks after golf today, it was Keith departing gesture before heading back to the States.
Everyone had a great time I think, Keith wanted me to have a drink with him before he went home so I choose to drink some tanduay ice lolly water but not after so many. I missed presentation my apologies I probably couldnt ride my bike into town, but the biggest surprize was having a 10 minute conversation in fluent tagalog with my wife considering I only speak english.
Ok back to the golf, well the course was muddy again the rain doesn’t seem to be easying much as it continues on with the wet season. Some groups were able to finish before the skies opened up with some more rain, but early the humidity was really high and uncomfortable walking around in the mud.
New & Returning Golfers – Gianni, Hans, Ken Bosward and Peter Green.
It was a Aussie clean sweep.

Marina Hills 6th September 2016
Hi to all around the Globe,
Today we held our first game of golf at Marina Hills after 3 weeks of bad weather, the course was playable but it was hard for some the ground still soft and the fairway grass was long in places, the greens however were good to putt on. The rough today was in a class of its own and not even worth looking for your ball it was anaconda territory.
We had 30 players all keen to get out and have a hit and there were some good score but today it seemed that one player would stand tall and conquer the rest but more about that later.
We had a couple of returning golfers – Keith Morrell – Mark McHoes – Tom Simpson – Bob Taylor – Peter Grant and Wayne Hall.
“HANS ALERT” There has also been reports that Hans has been seen around town but not at Marina today.
Happy Birthday to Ron Carter today.
Best Gross today goes to our Club Captain Warwick Sharpe with a great score of 77 good scoring mate you’ve been playing well of late and equally with a great Nett score of 66 was Jeff Geary.
Monthly Medal Winners (0 – 18) Warwick Sharpe nett 68 ( 19 & Above) Jeff Geary 66

So Mal from Moons gave us some raffle prizes for the club you guessed it the winner Warwick Sharpe, he could have also won the pool comp but unfortnately missed a sitter on the black and he was beaten by Steve Turner, so today I declare Warwick Sharpe day well done mate.
